So basically the terrorists (foreign and domestic) have won.

What about the "well regulated" part? Many of our gunmen don't seem to be regulated at all.

I was about to post what they train the school kids with now, but then decided I don't want to publicise the strategy, especially considering how many posters on here fit the profile.

Yeah, I can't tell you how many kids play zombie apocalypse which is a game where you shoot pretend invisible zombies with invisible weapons (crossbow, guns, grenades, etc.) and make guns out of legos and other blocks.

Many second amendment believers would disagree with the militia part and claim it is for guns period.

In NY (30 miles from Ground Zero) we had "terrorist drills", but did not tell the little kids what they really were for, but the older kids knew it.

Edit: That Florida Public School had armed Deputies in police County squad cars on campus at all times. That did not stop these gunmen from running on to campus, but the Deputies did block the exits, and call for more backup immediately.
Should have a machine gun emplacement outdoors on every corner of the school building, and one at each end of every hallway …oh, and in the cafeteria and library ...

Ricochet, contagious gunfire and stray bullets. I was in the boy scouts and was at event where a kid got hit by a stray, luckily he lived.

Yeah, but … In order to stop a determined well armed bad guy, it may be necessary to sacrifice a few innocent bystanders, eh … ???

*shrug*

Even the Army, messed up as it is, won't allow targets to be concentrated, not even in the chow line!
Is it even logical to close the blinds? That prevents law enforcement personnel from looking in to see what is going on in that room. The Perp is probably already inside the building!
"Logic" has little to do with any aspect of the situation. All responses are driven by fear and emotion. Very little real THINKING has been done!

The Federal Government, IMO, dropped the ball here. The DCM (Director of Civilian Marksmanship) was supposedly tasked with ensuring that all civilians who wanted it had training in shooting, both long guns and pistols. The DCM also made military surplus weapons and ammunition available to civilian buyers at reduced cost.
That program is pretty much dead. The "well regulated militia" is the responsibility of the government, BY LAW. THEY have failed the citizens of the United States, and the citizens have
ALLOWED it to happen!
Do you remember who the government IS, in our Constitutional Republic? That's right, YOU and YOU and YOU and ALL OF YOU and I are the GOVERNMENT!
At least WE are supposed to be!
