Maybe people who eat hot dogs and processed food of any kind get cancer more often than those of us who take the time to cook real, unprocessed food (workout, keep our weight in a normal range, etc) is because they don't give a care about their health.

I eat a lot of meat. I always have because I'm from Texas and was raised on meat. I love the taste.

Non processed foods. Home cooked meals. Moderation. (exercise, not being overweight) Duh.

We could discuss that the vegan diet is probably healthiest overall for human beings ...easiest to adapt to... And maybe best for the environment ...
But I agree about the who... Extension of liberalism and controlling the world

Being vegan means I can live lighter on my own system and certainly lighter on the world.. But..I've also been one over 50 years..so for me there is nothing else ...people can make up their own minds... We are running out of food and meat takes exorbitant amount of energy to produce while creating huge amounts of waste and disease... Smart people avoid it.
Meat is also a fallacy perpetrated upon and ingrained into humans from birth... The vegan diet supports some of the strongest.. Fastest.. Hardiest humans and animals ...
There is no need to make suffering of living creatures the forefront of our food chain when there are healthier alternatives

Biologically -- anatomically and physiologically -- we human beings are omnivores …

Balance … moderation … variety … being sensible ...

This isn't the guilt trip. This is the report that precedes the guilt trip.

When the guilt trip comes, it will be fierce. And I don't think it will be guilt tripping based on our first-world status. I think it will be health-related guilt tripping, like smoking ("What a disgusting habit!" "Smokers stink!" etc.)

Next thing you know they'll ban grilled hot dogs in city parks just like they've done with smoking. "What about the children?!"

The World Health Organization said Monday that eating processed meat such as sausages and ham causes cancer, while unprocessed red meat may also be carcinogenic.

The WHO's cancer research unit now classifies processed meat as "carcinogenic to humans" based on evidence from hundreds of studies, and linked it specifically to colon, or colorectal, cancer.

The report outlined that simply eating 50 grams of processed meat each day -- the equivalent of two slices of ham -- can increase the risk of such cancer by 18%. However, the authors say the risks are relatively small to begin with.

So does most red meat.

Red meat - I can LIVE without it.

Only if it is packaged in the grocery-sack brown recycled paper wrapper imprinted with the biodegradable sage green ink with pictures of happy piglets cavorting in pristine meadows. And you pay twice the price for it in some vaguely self-styled environmentally conscious market.

Isn't this old news? I've read things like this for years. Beef has even been shown to cause cancer.

I almost never eat processed meat, and I gave up beef years ago, so I dodged that bullet.

As Uncle Ronnie might have said, "Well, there they go again".

Eat anything you wish. Eat dog doo doo if you want. Nobody cares.

But doctors and some organizations put the facts out there. Just judge it as you wish. No one cares about what you eat, only that you have good information.

No one's gonna take away your wiener.

Just relax.

They said it "possibly" causes cancer, Dr John Lapook said that eating that meat everyday raises your risk by 5%. The media didn't publicize that part.
