Police destroyed a home belonging to a single mother with six kids, because of a bad tip. Leave then homeless. Even throw their Christmas tree out into the yard.

Maybe I am missing something from the article, but if they decided to have a standoff that lasted for 20 hours, then how come the house was destroyed?

Doesn't make any sense to me either. They took a battering ram attached to a fork lift and rammed holes in the house. And she told them that he wasn't in there.

I know I'm cruel, but the title of the thread has me laughing obnoxiously.

Evidently they used heat detectors and got a source of heat from the attic, and thought it was a persons body heat. They decided to wait and coax the person out, but there was no person, so no one came out. Looks as if they poked holes in the ceiling and tore the house up, to get the non existent entity out of the attic, and destroyed the home n the process.

What I can't figure, is why they would toss the Xmas Tree out the window, and do so much damage to the home. I like to give Cops reasonable doubt, when we see a Horror story like this, but it sure is hard to come up with any excuse for such gross negligence. Somebodies head needs to roll here.

They said there is an FBI Program that will help the woman and her kids rebuild the house, which means you and I are going to pay for this crap. I wonder if they wished the Woman and her Kids a "Merry Christmas" when they left, or as they tossed the tree out the window.

It should read " Police destroy home because of bad trip." These guys had to be on drugs.

"Sheriff Groves says the homeowner was made aware of a program to the FBI offers to help with home repair in these types of situations."

Why should they be expected to use federal funds to fix their home? According to the article, local law enforcement screwed up. Let the money come from them.

I have a feeling after the mega law suit, the homeowner will get a very nice brand new home and some spending cash after all is said and done.

Gosh, what ever happened to surveillance?

The Sheriff's department destroyed the home. They should be the ones to pick up the tab for cleaning up the mess and preserving the family's belongings. Why do neighbors have to help sort through the damages just to get this family set to rights? Why do federal taxpayers have to pick up the tab for the poor strategies (and poor behavior) of local law enforcement?

That poor family.

And what the HELL is a Joplin Honky?
