It really amazes me that there is so much pussification of America nowadays.. Establishments have been open on Holidays for years... NOT everyone wants to spend time with their family, some do not even have a family, and some want to work and make the extra money... Some might be so lonely they like the fact they can work and be around people they know...

AND it is NO ONE's business whether they do this or not.. If you think no place should be open during Holiday then do not go there.... ON the same token if you need help or get hurt PLEASE, PLEASE do not call the Police or Fire Dept as they really should NOT be bothered on a Holiday either.. (read that as sarcasm)...

American people just seem to get Stupider and Stupider as the months go by....

Lol, give me a break.

Actually, what I heard first was Target bragging via their commercials that they're going to be open Christmas eve until 11 p.m.

In 1968 I worked for the phone company on Christmas...directory assistance was what
it was called, not the operator you would need for an emergency....lots of people have to
work Christmas Day, I've worked at Walmart, jewelry department, on Christmas Eve,
that's not considered a holiday from working. I know people who want to work on
Christmas for extra pay.

Do you not understand the meaning of the word "sarcasm"?

Why is it "rotten"? It's just another day. Christmas Eve isn't the holiday, Christmas Day is and we will get paid for that. My schedule includes an hour unpaid lunch so it's basically only an 8 hour day.

Before Walmart became 'super sized' they had Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter off. We have to work two of those days now but they are time and a half days.

no paid sick days for families and shopping now on the biggest two holidays of the year. I just don't get it. This is why I respect stores that hold their values and their action reflects whats important.

Walmart has paid maternity leave. I don't recall how long but they have it. We also have paid sick days, personal time off days and vacation. Plus a whole lot more that the general public doesn't even know about. People really should learn the true facts about a company before they diss it.

One of the saddest places to be on Christmas eve and Christmas is a casino. They are open too. Now that you know about this injustice you can get on that as well.

Really? My lovely bride and I are retired, no family within a 1000 miles. We spent the last 2 or 3 Christmas Days and Thanksgivings at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. Had a great time, had a nice meal in the restaurant, tipped everyone very will, I had a really good cigar and my wife won over a grand last year at Christmas AND T-Day.

We'll miss it this year since we now live on The Big Island (Hawaii) and there are no casinos.

BTW, we have a day long procedure schedule at the Hospital on December 24. They seem to think it's just another day. Go figure.

To me one thing worse than a hypocrite is a "holier than thou".
