A 13-year-old Colorado boy was found dead in his closet after apparently playing the “choking game,” his family told KTTV.
Memphis Burgess was found by his father on Dec. 10.
“I went into his closet and I found him leaning up against the wall on his knees. I thought he was messing with me and I shook his shoulder. That’s when he turned around I noticed he was all blue and not breathing,” Brad Burgess told KKTV.
Apparently the choking sensation gives the kids a type of "high." I don't know if it's a sexual, orgasmic high (as I have never tried it) but apparently it's a feeling some like. It's also probably the danger in it that excites them, as they're just stupid teens.
You just can't make kids use their brains and think logically. They literally cannot, as their brains aren't mature enough yet. So many tend to think in the moment and not think ahead. "In the moment, I'm passing out, but in the end I may die because I am choking myself..." is not how they think. It's just "in the moment I'm passing out and I like it." Sad.

It is a type of high. Decades ago, I recall my friends and I in our preteen years purposefully making each other pass out. We would hold our breath and someone else would push on our chest until we passed out, then quickly let go as we fainted. It would create a dream like state when one passed out, it wasn't sexual at all, it just felt good and we all did it even though we knew it was probably dangerous. We were "good" middle class, parochial school kids from caring families. Kids want to alter their consciousness, that's just a fact of life. Fortunately, we never did this alone, or even knew it could be done alone, as stupid as it was, we were all careful to let go as soon as the faint came on. For us, it was more of a social, even bonding activity and you would never do it with someone you didn't trust.
Parents need to really talk to their kids and practice a non judgmental attitude while trying to explain the terrible dangers.
Isn't this something people due for sexual arousal?
