Maybe an American brought them here from their visit to another country. Maybe the mattresses were purchased from another country. It's possible this has nothing at all to do with immigration as Americans travel all over the world.

Vertical video and steady shot of the floor indicator on a 60 second elevator ride? That guy deserves bedbugs.

It was just another one of millions of poorly done amateur Youtube videos. The guy's message is lost because he wanted to get clever and introduce us to the hotel in question through a hard-to-see narrow, vertical shot of the extremely dark exterior of the hotel, the painfully boring elevator ride, unlocking the damn door, walking around the room, and an unrevealing long shot of the mattress before he finally came through on his promise to prove that his hotel mattress was infested.

At the very least he could have held his phone sideways.

tl;dr:

Do you enjoy watching elevator rides? If so, yes, you missed the best part.

Also, people who film vertically should have their phones stuffed somewhere.

Where is the evidence that DDT is even effective against bed bugs?

Well, if you want to sleep on a mattress that has had overdoses of deadly chemicals, go ahead...suck it all in.
