Lots of people are mad. Why? Take your pick. Could be anything from a guy that never amounted to much and is blaming everyone for his life and how it turned out, to the guy who had a great life and lost it all for whatever decisions he made that contributed to his downfall, to a guy that's just plain whacked out crazy, to people rightfully screwed by the system, The government throwing it's weight around real or perceived.
I mean seriously take your pick. The economy is great for some and horrible for others. Lots of people feel disenfranchised by the establishment. Weather they are right or wrong I dont know.

There are enough religious freaks, government cover up conspiracy theorists, I guess if you want to see something in a story you can make anything seem as you want it to seem.

This thing can go bad quick. All it takes is one misunderstanding, a gunshot and then you'll have some real problems. Maybe this is where the new continental war starts. Who the hell knows. Instead of the Boston Tea Party you'll have the Wild Life Refuge burning. There are enough people who are tired of the way things are going

Like Waco?

The leader went jogging on a state highway three days a week. They shopped in local supermarkets. The "authorities" could have had a chat any time. They waited until Patriot's Day just to make a point.

I would suggest there's a serious lack of hope for the future. Parents are worried that their kids do not and will not have the opportunities that they and their parents enjoyed.
This "hope" is constantly under attack from the 24/7 news cycle we now live in,the constant barrage of information, the constant looks behind the curtain and the constant reminder of how warped people who are in charge really are.
In years past one didn't hear about all the foibles of those in office although they were just as crooked and flawed then as they are now. Most went on, day to day only concerned about/knowing about their little slice of the world.

Most people who had a job figured they'd be there until retirement and then have a gold watch and pension to live out their days on. They cared about their company and felt the company cared about them.
Not anymore.

We lived in communities where people were civil to each other, people were not afraid to scold other's children for acting badly or to go to those kids parents and let 'em know what's going on. Parents were mortified that their little darling would embarrass the family so badly that a neighbor or another adult would have to come talk to them.
Not anymore...

Maybe we've just become a free-for-all, less of a cohesive nation than we used to be?

Mr. Trump should convince these militia geniuses to go to the Middle East to fight ISIS. Maybe they can decimate each other and America wins. Twice.

All one needed to do is look at the kooks at Occupy Wall Street to see leftist anarchists among them.

I agreed with some of the positions about how the fat cats of WS were not held to account for the fleecing of our economy.
Yet I couldn't bring myself to be anywhere near those kooks, as I will not associate with such rabble rousers.

Indeed. It is simmering just under the skin of the body politic. The feds have not repeated Waco or Ruby Ridge, and will not here. They are fearful of that genie getting out of the bottle. Once it's out, ya can't put it back in. Better to keep it covered up, and not let anybody suspect what's out there.

All is not well in La-la land. Smart phones and live streaming have not hypnotized everybody. Whoever said that we were a divided nation, is right. Call these guys whatever names you like, but don't forget they are out there. They number in the millions. And they are very serious.

A large group of heavily armed men showed up to the wildlife refuge occupation in eastern Oregon on Saturday, further escalating tensions and causing internal conflicts at the protests.

Just as a number of the regular occupiers at the Malheur national wildlife refuge were finishing up a morning press conference, a fleet of more than a dozen vehicles drove up to the site. Men armed with rifles got out of their trucks and began stationing themselves along a road.

The men said they were with a group called the Pacific Patriot Network and were a “neutral party”, there to provide security and protection for everyone at the refuge.

From the linked article:

Pete Santilli, a rightwing radio host attending the occupation, said he called his contacts at the Pacific Patriot Network earlier in the week and suggested they help provide security – since it was clear the local sheriff’s office was not going to intervene if anything got out of hand.

When the men first arrived in the morning, Santilli said: “This is the safest I’ve felt since I’ve been here.”

There will never be another Waco again. The feds have learned a lot in the 23 years that have passed since then.

Ah- the sorrow!

So many guns, and no one to aim at but each other!

The Feds are mighty happy to get cozy and let the winter do their work for them. They have all the time in the world to sort out the charges and go arrest whoever once they are all gone, any old time the agents choose.
That's the way they have done it for years now. Just ask the Montana wingnuts that are still in prison after their standoff 18 years ago.
