Is life more valuable than $25? You would think that cooler heads would prevailed in a gun store of all places and because there were good guys on both sides of the counter.

Quote:
A gun shop owner and his 17-year-old son died in a shootout over a $25 service charge, and another man and his 29-year-old son are hospitalized, Mississippi authorities said.

Investigators don't know whether the customers or the owners started the shooting Saturday afternoon at McLemore Gun Shop near Picayune, and want to figure out just what happened before filing any charges, Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison told the Sun Herald.

What a scumbag. OVER TWENTY-FIVE DAMN DOLLARS. Good god, have people now become so protective of their money that they will kill others to prevent paying money?

Hopefully this POS is locked up for a very long time.

Decided to post this before the gun grabbers come in here saying this is why we need gun control.

So....

Who started the shooting, and who was defending themselves?

We all assumed it was the customer, but has that been confirmed? Article says it was unknown at this point.

Thankfully I was home alone when I read the news story about it because I would have embarrassed myself. I literally laughed out loud reading the story...although I didn't wish anyone dead over such an issue. I tried to think of the right phrase, and all I could come up with was "poetic justice". So much for the often mentioned justification for gun-freedom that if everyone carries guns, the good guys will prevail.

BTW, just for the record, despite being a Democrat, I have no interest in outlawing private gun ownership.

And so when people use the logic that "guns don't kill people, people with guns kill people", I'll always have this to remember.

Anyone who can legally handle a firearm and willfully pull the trigger in a dispute over $25 and an apparently wounded ego should, in fact, not be legally allowed to handle a firearm.
