Colorado deputy shot during a contact with an armed juvenile..tried taser..gets shot multiple times in the face...Navy veteran... Gives his organs so that others can live
I read about as much of the news article as I could before I couldn't take it anymore.
Which was right about the same time the writer of the article referred to the shooter as a 'boy'.
And mentioned that the name and photo of the shooter is not being released because he is a minor.
When a 17 year old murderer is referred to as a 'boy' and his name is with held, while acting like that is ok. The world invariably becomes a much sicker and warped place.
Very sad that there aren't more responses in this thread. Not only was another life given trying to protect others, he gave even more of himself by donating his organs.
Jim, the entire LE community is devastated, just as your community is.
The thoughtless giving of oneself on the behalf of others so often goes without notice. Life is very fragile, and can end at any moment, always a reminder to treat others as we want to be treated....
What, no media? No Black Lives Matter? No Sharpton? C'mon Mr. President, he could have been YOUR son???? say what you will but I seriously doubt a Republican President would have acted this way. The man is a hero. Period.
I'm sick and tired of everyone putting down on Law Enforcement. They deserve better. The public needs to see the human side of them. This man's demise is a case in point.
God rest his soul and damn those that would keep cutting down on law enforcement. 99.999% of them are good, decent people working their way through their lives just like you and I. It's time they get the respect they deserve.
To the OP's point....we as a nation are celebrating and honoring the likes of Michael Brown. A known thug while completely ignoring the good deeds of a hero like this.
The words "armed juvenile" should never be together like that. What is wrong with some of today's youth? Where are the parents? Kids and teens should be out playing basketball with friends or something, not armed in conflicts with cops.
Poor man. God bless him, and thank you for donating your organs. Not enough people do this. He just saved multiple lives. He saved lives in life and death.
One of the comments stated that if tazers hadn't been invented, Deputy Greer may still be around. This case is a very tragic example of why officers do fear for their lives.
That 17 yr old POS stole from Greer's family. His future, his children's right to their father and his wife's right to her husband. Hopefully the murderer receives the maximum sentence.
Very tragic. Good for him for being an organ donor!
I dislike the holding back of the shooter's name but ONLY BECAUSE he will most likely be tried as an ADULT. I don't like the hipocracy (ala 18yos being sent to was but not allowed to drink alcohol!?)
I'm putting a cap on articles about law enforcement for a while. Lets discuss current events. If you want to have a debate about law enforcement do it in the proper forums.
