Robert Drewelus, 53, was driving his semi down a Florida highway when he was involved in an accident with a Volvo.

The Bradenton Herald reported the semi was carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline. It rear-ended the Volvo, then veered toward the shoulder, overturned and burst into flames.

The Volvo allegedly left the scene of the accident before police arrived. Drewelus died.

Three days later, his widow, Elsie Nieves-Drewelus, had more news.

As WFTS-TV reports, a teen who was a passenger in the Volvo allegedly posted a picture to Instagram. It gravitated to Facebook and elsewhere. It showed him standing by the wreckage of a car with the words: "RIP volv."

He was smiling. There was also a smiley emoji and one of a semi.

If the kid that took the selfie does not have rich parents, he might be in alot of trouble over this.

With wealthy parents, the entire thing will be twisted and morphed by attorneys to the point where it will be blamed on the truck driver.

I'm more concerned about them not stopping and phoning 911 than the photo. I've known plenty of people though who posted photos after they rolled their truck or something though with captions ranging from "praise the lord I'm alive" to "wrecked another one."I thought that was the norm to be honest and that photo doesn't look much different than that to me.
If they are at fault then it will be a very big mistake for them though. Generally getting rear ended though doesn't mean you're at fault though unless they were doing something really stupid. The article doesn't seem to indicate anyway so I will hold off my judgment.

What gets me, is the truck hit the volovo? The truck driver died ... These kids who were in the volvo, managed to get out take selfies and then leave before police arrive? All while the guy driving the truck dies... Something don't add up

The truck was hauling fuel. It rolled and burst into flames. Lots of flames.

This story would make a great Volvo ad.

^^^This. Don't believe everything you read of the internet and just too many holes to reach a conclusion.

I assume the selfie wasn't taken at the accident scene, but later on when they reached their destination. Probably they didn't even stop after getting hit because the Volvo driver knew he would get into trouble for violating the terms of his provisional learner's permit.
