Patrick Emmerich knew one day he would win big in the lottery, and he did — $2 million.

He was at Dierbergs in Shiloh and had a feeling he should buy a lottery ticket.

“I was at the store picking up chicken for dinner when something told me to get a lottery ticket, so I did, and I won,” the Shiloh resident said.

If its 2 Million "cash". Sometimes they pay 2 million annuity over increments of 30 years.

Lets say though it is 2 Million cash....

Illinois gets 3.75% and Uncle sam gets Minimum 25% ( technically federal will get 34-36% when all is said and done).

2 million less tax 28.75% ($575,00) .means he walks with 1.425 million.
