Sounds like she was screwed either way. Say yes and live with a control freak that would probably eventually kill you , or say no and have him kill you sooner...
Unfortunately this is common all over the world. In some cultures, it is considered such an affront to a man's dignity and self worth that from a cultural standpoint, he is considered justified in retaliating against the woman who spurned him. When I was dating I occasionally did encounter a few men who couldn't handle rejection, they would take it far too personally. Rejection is part of life and we have to learn to cope with it.
Some people are just pure evil. Unfortunately for the woman, she became involved with one such person. When dating, I always try to get a decent sense for a person before divulging a lot about myself. Sometimes, all it takes it talking to mutual friends/meeting the other individual a few times and getting a sense for who the person is. Needless to say, I've had several close calls!
People, particularly women, want to have their cake and eat it too. They want the bad boy but they don't want the consequences that go with it, then when things go awry they want the white knight to come to their aid but not give the white knight the fruits of a relationship just a shoulder to cry on then back to the bad boy. Then they get butt hurt and call real men impotent loosers when the white knights dry up and the accusations start.
When a tree does not produce fruit you cut it out of your life unless your an idiot. A lot of men are wising up to not be chumps, if she is not exclusively giving you the fruit then don't be the shoulder either. She can go talk to her girl friends about it, but what is funny about that is other girls usually get tired of that drama REALLY quick and the women with the bad boy boyfriend know it.
Yes, in a court of law the murderer does not get off but we are talking about the social backlash not the legal consequences. No one is suggesting that he should get off, he should get the death penalty ... but that's not what we are talking about here and the other posters know it and are trying to obfuscate the issue being discussed which is intellectually dishonest.
When an abundance of women are choosing dirt bags it results in a lot of good men checking out of social situations and a denigration of society (when this happens on a large scale). Which is what we are seeing now, stable families are not being built. You are seeing dysfunctional poverty, in part, because women are choosing to lay with loosers.
