Lights illuminate Brooke Miranda Hughes’ face as the Scranton teen holds up her cellphone while driving along Interstate 380 near Tobyhanna shortly after midnight Tuesday.
She is broadcasting a live Facebook video.
“Are you going live?” asks her passenger, Dunmore teen Chaniya Morrison-Toomey.
Really sad, people really should not be messing with their phones while driving.

This story isn't what I expected after reading the headline. Seems they were hit from behind and were going slow because they either had a flat or a donut on. In this case the live streaming probably didn't help but not sure it was the cause.

Sad story no matter what transpired.
Yeah, it doesn't seem like the live streaming (as foolish as it was) caused the accident.
Drivers ed should enforce how fast things can happen in a car especially at highway speeds and how easy it is to die.
They should also teach how much damage can be done to a car and a human body at even the modest speed of 25 mph.
Everyone should be reminded of these things throughout their driving years.

Yeah. The girls were the ones hit. From behind. By a tractor trailer.
In this case, the video will be used as evidence and could allow charges to be filed against the truck driver. I do wonder what speed they were driving at in the right-hand lane.
This is one of those thing that while I feel sorry for the families & friends I just can't feel sorry for the girl driving the car.
