STUPID! I'm surprised that a lawyer actually took the case! Who cares if it's cheaper a la cart than the "value meal". If someone can't do simple math to figure that out than it's their own stupidity! Many companies do the exact same thing. People are just sue happy these days!
Deceptive advertising is a crime. Good for the man who is standing up to it... and his lawyer too. It isn't about the 41-cents. It's about the principle. Multiply that 41-cents by millions of Value Meals sold every week. None of us should be expected to carry a calculator and an accountant everywhere we shop.
We've all purchased Value Meals. I hope it's Class Action lawsuit where all customers benefit.
Most don't need a calculator to add a few items in your head. Many companies do this. The suit won't go anywhere. It's not false advertising, they are not stating that the meals are cheaper than ala cart items. They are saying you can get such and such item grouped as a meal for such price. They also offer it a la cart. If that's cheaper then you have the opportunity to buy it that way. The prices are stated on the board when ordering. If you don't understand, don't ask question or can't add then it's your own fault.
people .. look up the meaning of value .. it does not mean cheaper ... it means the worth of something .. it is no crime to call a 3$ meal a value meal when it is priced at 3$ .. it is no crime to call it a regular meal when it is also priced at 3$ ..Value does not mean cheap ...

Yes, they are. That's the point of the word "extra".
And, it's true that many or most of us don't need a calculator to ad up the prices of three items; however, it's really hard to find the a-la-carte prices on the menu these days because they want you to buy the combo meals that include the super-high-margin items.

Not sure you understand just how many freakin' lawyers are out there and underemployed.
This is silly. A restaurant can price their items any way they want. Even if it doesn't make sense. I sometimes see cases where a "package" meal is more than the cost of the items a la carte but in that case I just order them a la carte or don't give them my business.
It amused and even annoyed me how folks used to buy 6-pc McNuggets for $2.29, when it was cheaper to just buy them for 4 for $1. I told some folks about this, but they replied they only want 6! I counter saying it's still cheaper to buy two 4-piece, and throw away 2 of them!

We have all been socialized not to throw out food because of waste and how it looks to the starving children in poorer communities. Add into that the public health concerns with the Super size me documentary you get the perfect storm of marketing. The "value" added can be argued is your time in ordering number six instead of building a meal piece by piece
