Even as I really don't have the same visceral reaction as others to our flag burning; the principles it represents- most importantly, free speech- are far more potent than the physical symbol that it is. I'm all for some back and forth free speech with folks protecting it.
I totally honor the FedEx employee's actions and am glad the company feels the same.
I'm glad he didn't get fired, but the protestors have a right to non-violent free speech, which, as guaranteed by US Sup. Ct. decision, includes flag-burning. Free speech, and protecting free speech, even if you disagree with the method, is quintessentially American.
His "if you don't like it get...out" comment isn't that American.
It should be American. If you don't like this country you should leave. Why stay?
