I think he woke up the morning after knowing that was going to happen.

Too bad they didn't do that after the first incident. Maybe this one would have been prevented.

I guess in a few months another collision will force President Trump to relieve the Chief of Naval Operations

There have been four such incidents involving Pacific fleet ships since January.

US Navy warship accidents: There have been 4 this year - CNNPolitics

Doesn't speak well to the leadership and training.

Ten more young lives snuffed out through negligence.

1) The USS Fitzgerald was hit at the very front of the superstructure, not mid-section.

2) The USS John S. McCain collision involved the tanker Alnic MC, which is Liberian-flagged, operated by a Greek corporation. The USS Fitzgerald collision involved the container ship MV ACX Crystal, co-owned by two Philippine and Panamanian companies but chartered and operated by a Japanese investment firm. Liberia is not Asian. Panama is not Asian. Greece is not Asian. Japan is certainly Asian, but the idea that because Japan and China happen to be Asian countries, the Japanese will therefore do China's bidding is rather nonsensical (and, frankly, racist).

3) So the idea of this conspiracy theory is that China has deliberately engineered this. This, being an act of war. For no discernable purpose (there is nothing in Chinese foreign policy or behavior that suggests it would do such a rashly provocative thing).

4) And we should believe this because 'rumors'?

Without the AIS data for the destroyer and coordination to the last second, I doubt we can be sure that the turn to port wasn't the result of the collision.

The pros over at gcaptain seem to be of that impression:
