Don't even need to check - dead center in its journey across South Carolina. Clemson University is selling viewing areas where you can tailgate party as well. Of course, the Electric City here, which should have made this a major tourism event, missed the opportunity but is encouraging people to come to the library and other sites. Sigh - With this being the home of Sunbrella, I saw this as a major economic development treasure a year ago and even did some mock up advertising ideas. But living in South Carolina now for four years has made me lazy and I was just too tired to walk down to City Hall and do their job for them. No doubt Greenville and Clemson will make some money with it - Anderson City Council will just point to the sky and say "well, looky there" and immediately be blinded. Won't matter though - pretty much there already. Bless their hearts............
Here in northeast Texas we will get a partial eclipse of about 80 percent - still cool.
Here's another good site where you just put in your zip code for the times and amounts of solar eclipse action you will get wherever you are on that day.
I would like to see it but unfortunately it'll rain that day so I'll miss it.
It's ok, Eeyore.....there will always be another day...
