I’m not sorry that he’s dead, but I think it would have been worse punishment for him to have spent the rest of his days rotting in prison instead of a mobster shanking him.
While I won't lament his death, I certainly won't cheer it.
Due process isn't something I embrace only when convenient. I actually believe in it. And when someone is murdered while in the custody of the state by persons the state placed with that someone, due process has been denied.
Guess none of you are from Massachusetts or lived there when he "reigned"? He got exactly what he deserved. Too bad he evaded capture for so many years.
I read that Bulger had been an FBI informant since 1975 and had been making some noise about having dirt on Robert Mueller, who he'd apparently "worked with" over the years. Interesting, isn't it, that Bulger hadn't even completed being processed into the new prison when he was killed, conveniently out of the range of cameras? I don't know how true the story is, but the timing of Bulger's death could be viewed as suspect. Even if it's not true, the prison has a serious security issue on their hands.

Agree on all points. If people are unhappy with the sentence he received, then they should replace the DA/Judge/Prosecutor/etc. with hard-hitters who aren't afraid of the death penalty, if that's what they think is called for.

I doubt the mob is real big on due process when handling their own affairs.
