He had the right to silence, however anything he did say could be used in a Court of Law.
Make a noise once for 'no' and twice for 'yes'.

Sean Sykes Jnr is facing federal gun and drug charges after being pulled over twice by police in Kansas City. He was initially released in September, but taken back into custody this month.
Explosive new details have now emerged of Mr Sykes's original interview in September that was brought to an abrupt end.
According to the Kansas City Star newspaper, a detective's report said Mr Sykes "leaned to one side of his chair and released a loud fart" when asked for his address by police while being interviewed in September.
"Mr Sykes continued to be flatulent and I ended the interview," the detective wrote after recovering.

I love it. Weaving explosive into a flatulence story. Someone went the extra mile on that one.
The cop should have fired back to the suspect after his first classless outburst...
"Although your voice sure changed since the last time we spoke, your breathe is still the same".
I could always "burp" at will but never at the other end.
Having said that, one time at a US Army barracks inspection the major asked, "What's your 3rd general order, young trooper?" I let one rip out BRRRRRRP!
He looked at me somberly and said, "Your voice is changing, but your breath still smells the same."
My daughter sent me this story the other day...she took note, just in case she is ever found in that situation.
What I wondered after reading the story, and laughing...who stinky leaked that story out??? Story made it sound like it wasn't the detective, or the suspect. I'm guessing there's a big stink at the police station and that detective is the butt of many a joke in the precinct right now!
