I know enough about the food industry to put them to levels closer to car salesmen vs. your friendly neighborhood diner. OTOH, despite how frivolous some of these seem, more knowledge getting out there, which can't be a bad thing.
Why doesn't she just buy proper Ginger Ale or Ginger Beer.

Canada Dry is just really a mixer for alcholic drinks.

I just bought a pack of Vernons because it looked more real lol. Taste's horrible to me

BTW along similar lines, why does Budlite Lime now contain real lime ??? How could limes become cheaper to use than some nasty chemical ?
It actually tastes better now.

A similar case against Dr Pepper Snapple Group was brought before a judge in Missouri, but was dismissed in June, according to The Washington Post. Other food and beverage companies have faced accusations of false advertising in the past as well. Kellogg’s has been brought to court for not having real fruit in their Froot Loops, and Starbucks changed their pumpkin spice latte recipe in 2015 after being criticized for its lack of real pumpkin.

That's ridiculous. It isn't PUMPKIN latte. It's PUMPKIN SPICE latte. Pumpkin spice is a spice mixture used to make pumpkin pie. There is no pumpkin in it. OF COURSE there is no pumpkin in it!!!

But it’s also a way to make the corporations pay attention. I’m getting sick of their ****. So if it gives them a headache- good!! Maybe the people running these companies will find their consciences. Even if their conscience lives in their wallet.

There's no coffee in the Pumpkin Spice Latte either at least at Starburcks:

See, the pumpkin spice latte is not a to-be-consumed-every-morning coffee. It’s just a liquid dessert, nothing more, nothing less; a hot milkshake, if you prefer. (Or, for the it’s-still-hot-out drinkers, the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino, served iced, is... just a regular milkshake.) It might co-habitate on a menu centered around coffee, but it’s not coffee, and anybody who perceives it as such, and judges others’ consumption based on that, is willfully missing the point. It’s right there in the title: “Pumpkin spice” — the drink is meant to evoke the spices used in pumpkin pie (cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves — a valiant trio of tried and tested flavors). It wants to be a dessert. And sure, the PSL doesn’t have much pumpkin (there’s a small amount in the syrup, per Starbucks’s own ingredient list), but that’s probably for the best, since it’s a dessert-adjacent drink and not a smoothie.
