Do cops have to undergo psych tests to get hired? ??
I would be surprised to hear that.
This has interesting implications, in the context of this topic. Could this imply that a few serial killers make it into the law enforcement profession? That would explain a few things...
Dern! Why wasn't this guy put in a cabinet position ? His deeds run in line with 'draining the swamp' and only allowing *a -mur-ree-kins' to have jobs here. (The proceeding was pure sarcasm with an element of truth)

You mean like Joseph James DeAngelo? Though technically I think maybe he was no longer a cop when he started serial killing. But that was only because they fired him first. In those days they had a really radical concept. If a cop committed a crime, they would fire him and he would never be allowed to work in law enforcement again. If it happened today, they would just give him a little paid administrative vacation, or maybe let him resign and then help him find a job with another department.
Somebody who works in the jail got caught smuggling drugs in. I'm wondering if it's still just county employees like when my friend worked there. The jails now, I've heard, are going to private contracting companies. Not a good thing. Contractors are looking for the cheaper costs, which means trouble down the line, with lower paid employees with less qualifications and if prisoners are not getting even enough food or being treated really bad, they'll rebel.

For those that don't know....^^JJA^^ is the golden state killer recently arrested.
Cops and criminals have similar minds. They just work opposite sides of the same crime. A great criminal would be a great cop and vice versa.
I think that as a society that we over estimate what a psychological test can find.
