I feel that way about a lot of stories on Current Events. There was a rude person on a city bus who wouldn't give their seat up is news?

Why the f did this “arrest” go as far as it did. The phone wasn’t stolen. The phone was taken away as punishment. It wasn’t stolen.

Ya, that is pretty much the most mind boggling thing about this.

This does happen, and it's a problem. Parents steal items that belong to the other parent.

And this is a problem with divorced parents. So many of them lose their minds.

And yes, it would be frustrating to have your property stolen by the other parent.
Yeah it sounds like an ex issue. The ex knew the phone wasn't his but he wanted to punish his ex instead of finding out why she took the phone away. If you have kids, no matter how bad you hate your ex, you need to try and get along and not call cops for stupid stuff.

The title was so clickbait.

I wonder hold the daughter was? My oldest is 12 and doesn’t have a cellphone yet let alone an iPhone.

They also shouldn’t be undermining each other’s discipline. It sounds like when she gets punished, she runs to dad and complains, and he intervenes on her behalf aggressively.

Agree. I can see now why her ex-husband is her ex-husband. He's a jerk.

I looked up this case, by searching on her name.

This case was dismissed AT TRIAL. The trial was underway, when it was dismissed by the judge.

Someone needs to account for that. How did this case get all the way to TRIAL? Where was her lawyer in all this?

Another article, a few more details, and her lawyer is named.

Really. This should have been resolved outside of court even if she WAS guilty of outright theft of a cell phone worth less than $200. Who wants to foot the bill for a court trial in that case?

Who is the ex-husband, and how did he get this power, I wonder.

That is nuts! I’d like to know how much this cost her, too.
