In US, stupidity seems to follow firearms almost as closely as violence.
Nonsense, stupidity doesn't follow an object. Are you giving the object some supernatural quality or something? Stupidity happens because some people are stupid (obviously). It happens around automobiles, yard tools, small boats, taking selfies around cliffs, etc. AKA Darwin Awards.
Blanket statements are just that - they cover everything.
edit: I see you have been already trashed for your statement, but that's what happens when you post a blanket condemnation.
Someone once said that if you think of the most bizarre, sick, gross thing a person can do its guaranteed it's already been done out in the world. This is certainly true. How do people come up with this insanity? I'm also Florida born and it's scary all the crazy things that come out of this state. What is it with these things from such a nice sunny place? Maybe I'm out of touch, having last visited in 2004.
Story in the in-law family from years ago........I was young, heard about the county sheriff deputy accidently killing his wife with his weapon. Fast forward, guess it was "discussed" about in the family whether it really was an accident or not. No charges were ever filed.
Reminds me of some friends of mine. Their beautiful daughter was 'accidentally' killed with her policeman boyfriend's hand gun. Supposedly, she was playing with it, and accidentally shot herself. She was also 8 months pregnant at the time.
I'm not sure anyone really believed it was an accident.
This is true, otherwise - with 390,000,000 firearms in civilian hands - there wouldn’t be anyone left here. But the few real jackasses do get a lot of attention.
Truth there. But as you say the .0001 % of criminals and stupidity do get the coverage. Truth is most gun owners live pretty boring lives as far as the media goes so why cover that?
Whatever happened to that story about the cop threesome, where the lady cop got shot in the head while playing Russian roulette? Any follow up? This story reminded me of that.
"Oops! Gee, Judge, we were just having fun.. I didn't mean to shoot her dead at close range. It just sort of happened. "
There hasn't been much in new development of the story since April, when Nathaniel Hendren pled Not Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter.
Talk about a half-cocked idea. She went out with awful bang! This will be a blast for him to tell his prison buddies of why he is in prison! They should have been wearing protection!
