I don't think adult spectators are appropriate at a young kids sports event. I don't think this is an isolated incident that will be solved by banning five people. At very least, adults should be kept at a distance, well out of shouting distance.
I love watching my kids play at whatever age and they love to have their family there, watching and cheering them on. There’s no need to ban adults and parents just because of a few idiots.
The rule when my kid played was any parent who got out of line, their kid got benched. That took care of people gettin excited.
DH did everything from coach, umpire, scorekeeper. One time as scorekeeper he responded to a question from the coach. An irate father called him out, said meet me here after the game so I can whip your ass. DH said fine. Just so ya know, if you do I will file charges on you. We never saw that guy again.
Where was the adult supervision? Was the 13 year old umpire supposed to be the adult supervision? If so, that is utter failure on the part of the league, and league leadership should be booted.
The coaches should have been helping this 13 year old just as much as humanly possible, once things started to boil. It will be easy to determine if they did all they could do.
If I was in the stands, I would have been calling the cops at first sign of trouble (meaning when the guy in the stand started swearing at everybody.....that is disorderly conduct). Don't wait for things to get out of control.
As I said, the two or three primary instigators need to go to jail for five years, due to this being a kids event. (If the law doesn't allow for that, then the law needs to be changed). Others need to do a month or two in jail. (The dude in the teal shirt is a special case; he seems to have been the most violent and ought to do five years, whether or not he was a primary instigator).
But this incident is just example # 849,491 to prove that our society is finished. It's a symptom, not the cause. Look at the people around you: most of them are toxic.
That would be the best solution. Put an age 18 limit on the spectators, except for adult supervisors. What is with adults taking interest in kiddie sports anyway? They should have something better to do with their time. Little League is not exactly great sports entertainment. If it was, it would be televised. Even if it's their own kids playing, I don't think the kids need their parents there to cheer them on.

What a strange outlook. Why would a parent be interested in watching their kids?
Supposedly, these kinds of incidents are happening more often and with the parents of younger and younger kids. Well, nothing happens in a vacuum. Things don't "just happen". Easy fix: the very first time a parent gets even a little bit out of line at a game, they are banned from going to games for one year. The second time, it's a lifetime ban.

The coaches were acting out too, in addition to many of the adults in the stands. The umpire was likely the most mature person on the field that day.

And what type of message is this sending to kids who are being exposed to this behavior, by spectators at these events? In my opinion, in a civilized society it is unacceptable to have this happen at an event for children. Even one time is too much, and I doubt you or anybody else has a better solution for stopping it.

Pro-sports have become more and more stupid and expensive in my lifetime, and this seems to be trickling downwards... the stip
