Unforgivable. Apparently Grandpa was dangling her out an 11th story window.

How ghastly.

Dumb way to die. Doesn't even matter which grandfather it was, maternal or paternal, I don't think the mother will ever forgive. I know I wouldn't. Like Eric Clapton's son's death. Never should have happened, and the adult in charge (the mother) was never spoken to again.

Folks, it's not cute or funny to do this 'dangling over the precipice of death' act with a child. Just don't.

The baby's father is a police officer back in Indiana. The Police Chief is disputing the baby was being held out the window.

Well, that would be a relief. If he were merely holding her near the open window and she did one of those fling backwards things babies like to do at that age.

Awful story.

I think maybe you don't know exactly how Eric Clapton's son died. The housekeeper left the door to the balcony open, and the son ran through the door, and went over the balcony.

I can't imagine purposely holding a young child over any kind of precipice. Indeed, when my kids were that young, I had a fear of accidentally dropping them over the foyer balcony after carrying them upstairs. As a result, I would always walk as close to the wall (i.e. as far away from the railing) as I could while I was carrying them.

No railing around the balcony? I read it was an open window.

Horrifying. How can anyone ever know if he was just holding the baby or if he was actually holding it out the window?
If he had been actually dangling the baby out, he'll never admit to being that stupid. One thing, that family will be a mess from now on due to the loss and the cause of the loss.
