The supposed victim and his family won't produce the cell phone for analysis - the defendant claims that there was a string of texts that were deleted, that would prove he was innocent. And now the supposed victim has taken the 5th, and refuses to testify. So prosecutors dropped the charges.
Meanwhile, House of Cards (American version) was ruined, and so is Kevin Spacey's career. What's the man supposed to do, sue an 18 year old busboy for all he's worth?
"After a break in proceedings, the accuser's lawyers said he was pleading the Fifth in order to not incriminate himself."
"Spacey's accuser dropped a civil lawsuit on July 5."
So this leaves me wondering.......did the young man and/or his family make all this up? If one cannot provide what legally is asked for/required to move forward, then what was the point to begin with? I am not understanding why the young man is not, or cannot, cooperating in the legal proceedings. He is the one, after all, that brought them forth to begin with.
The accuser dropped his suit earlier, and some thought a settlement may have been reached. Also, prosecutors were said to have not been happy with the fact that the civil suit was filed before criminal charges, likely the result of the SOL.
And I won't be crying horseball tears over a friggin' TV program--there are a dozen other accusers who've come forward. If anyone ruined his career, it was Spacey, himself.

I say, Yes. Sue him. I'm sure the courts can garnish his wages for decades to come. Make an example of the kid. There's too many people pointing a finger these days, screaming "Witch!" when they haven't one shred of evidence.
If Spacey really is innocent, he'll sue.
If he's guilty, he won't.
I thought there are many accusations against Kevin Spacey, not just one. I read an article about it - there were many people who had witnessed his predatory behaviour.

I thought I'd read that he admitted it, but waved it off as nothing much to be concerned about. I haven't like the guy ever since.

I'll simplify it for you.
ACCUSER: "Pay me lots of money or I'll accuse you of molestering me."
SPACEY: "GFY."
ACCUSER: "Okay, never mind."
He was accused by a few men of just being generally a creep and being a little over zealous when trying to hook up. One young man aged 15 accused him of climbing on top of him in a sexual manner, but I believe they were clothed and he never assaulted him, just make him uncomfortable. To that accusation Spacey said he had no recollection of the action BUT if it did occur he is sorry for his actions. He seems kind of sleazy but making people uncomfortable isn't a crime, yet. I very much dislike the witch hunts. If he broke the law and is found guilty then yes the public should ruin his career and such. But ruining someones life without proof is awful.

Same for me with Michael Jackson, I hear one of his songs I change the station
