I came across a group of people that had a full grown, bull Moose surrounded in a small creek in RMNP. I told them that wasn't a good idea, and fortunately a park ranger came and got them to leave. Duh. Don't eff with the wildlife!

Glad the girl is okay.

Your story reminds me of the time when I was driving though the Rockies in Canada and I saw a bunch of people pulled over on the side of the road, out of their cars, taking pictures. I slowed down and saw they were all taking pictures of a bear just yards away from them. I wasn't as good as you I am ashamed to say, I didn't say anything and just kept driving. I guess my thought was you can't fix stupid.

It's good that she wasn't seriously hurt, and. . . lesson learned.

They will probably will sue Yellowstone, too. Ya know, to create awareness of the danger so this never happens to anyone else.

Ah, summer, the silly season. Actually, many people in the parks/recreation biz refer to them as tourons...a cross between tourist and moron. They go on vacation and leave their brains home in the garage.

Then there are visitors who complain about all the signage interrupting their views. Its a dilemma for the staff; warn stupid people about every ordinary hazard but disturb their "experience" or not warn stupid people and have to clean up the resulting messes. Seems like no matter which option they choose someone decides to be outraged.

Why would anyone want to watch a nine year old get knocked for a loop by a bison?

Why? It seems to me that normal people would NOT want to watch such a thing.
