I do not even know where to start with this one. Her neighbor had left behind the cats, they were starving, so she fed them multiple times. Other neighbors kept making complaints eventually getting her a 10 day jail sentence. What kind of judge could do such a thing? I would have done the same as this lady, so I would be in jail too. Disgusting
I searched through the current events forum and did not see this, but I just noticed there is a thread on this in the politics section. Feel free to delete thread. Sorry

Reason: duplicate thread
Well apparently it is illegal to feed stray cats and she was given 4 citations starting 2 years ago yet she continued to do it. This is kind of an important part of the story.
Oh yeah we definitely cant let this sort of lawlessness continue. What kind of person feeds starving animals if they know its illegal. Should have just let them die. {sarcasm}

Yes. But the implicit suggestion that she just put out a bowl of milk for the kitties and was hauled away in cuffs is far more interesting fodder for the masses, no? And since most people can't be bothered to read beyond the headline - clicking on a link and scanning a short article for 15 seconds seems to be far too much trouble for them - how would they even know?
I mean, it was pretty obvious to me and, I would guess, to you, too. Maybe we're the only ones with functioning WAIT A MINUTE, THERE HAS GOT TO BE MORE TO THIS STORY! meters.
It turns out the people in Garfield Heights are not unanimous as to the best course of action with regard to stray cats and dogs. And another judge wants to review the case before Ms. Segula starts serving jail time.
City council and other elected and appointed officials in Garfield Heights declined to discuss the issues surrounding Segula’s case or what prompted the city to pass the ordinance. Sounds like something that might have been rammed through without voter approval.

yeah it is like saying 79 yr old goes to jail for running a red light......but leaving out the rest of the circumstances like she was drunk and ran over 2 kids in the crosswalk.
