He thought her body would be studied. He thought he was contributing to research.
Instead it was destroyed. Of course mom does not care; but he feels deceived. I think he has a right to outrage.
Unfortunately, once you sign those documents (and mind you, you do get compensation for doing this) it's legally out of your hands.
Both my parents wanted to be donated to science. I did my duty to my father as he had wished, and was informed he was being used for some cadaver display at the local science museum, and while it sickened me, there is nothing I could do. And anyways, he's gone, and he won't care what happens to his body.
Perhaps he should have done more homework but the situation can be overwhelming with having to take care of all kinds of things related to their estate etc.
At least he's not finding out that she went in for hip surgery and someone killed her on purpose or accidentally. In the big scheme of things it's a p*sser but not that horrible relative to the other stuff we hear about.
Sadly, this is what exactly happens. These companies take advantage of people who are suffering emotional from losing a loved one, and know they won't be of clear mind and judgement. It doesn't help matters that you are also on a deadline to come up with a solution, and it makes decision making more confusing and rushed.

This isn’t the case. This man signed a form that asked him specifically if he would allow the body to go to the military and he checked no. It was a legal document and they violated it and sold bodies for a lot of money. This place was pretty much running a scam I have no idea why they’re being offended.
She died from Alzheimer’s. He wanted her suffering and death to mean something by having her body be used to help find a cure so that others in the future don’t suffer with the disease she had. He was informed by the company that he could choose to have his donation used for certain things and NOT to have her body used for certain things. He checked a box choosing NOT to have her body used for military purposes. He and the company rep signed it. Then they turned around and sold her body to the military for $6,000.00 violating the agreement they signed. . This is about money and it was a scam. I don’t get why anyone would think this is ok.
And for those that still don't get it, it's one thing if people knowingly donate the bodies of loved ones with the full understanding it would be used for military research including explosives research. This company deceived the families by not fully disclosing this, made additional profit from selling the bodies, and very likely did not even give back cremated remains of actual family members.
If people don't want their bodies donated for explosives research or military studies absolutely nothing wrong with that.
A civil jury has awarded $58 million Tuesday to 10 people who alleged a now-closed body donation facility mishandled the donated remains of their relatives and deceived them about how the body parts would be used.

The man checked No on the box on the form that specifically asked if he wanted the body to be allowed to be used for military testing. This case might be the reason for that lawsuit you placed down there.
"If somebody donates a deceased family member's body to science and indicates on the donation facility's forms what kind of testing can or cannot be done, are you okay with the facility not paying attention to those wishes?"
