He can be outraged all he wants but there most likely some fine print that the recipient of the donation can do anything they want with the body.

I personally wouldn't mind donating my body for something like this.

But, the point here is that this should be a personal choice. There's nothing wrong if someone doesn't want their body or the bodies of loved ones to be used in such testing. There should be full disclosure, which wasn't done here.

Unclear. The facility obviously acted unethically and illegally as confirmed by the fact that the FBI raided them and the guy who ran it is on probation now. This is merely the civil lawsuit following all that. They probably have a decent chance of winning, but who knows what they can even get out of it as I doubt the owner is swimming in cash at this point.

Guy got scammed, pure and simple.

Perhaps he should have done more homework but the situation can be overwhelming with having to take care of all kinds of things related to their estate etc.

At least he's not finding out that she went in for hip surgery and someone killed her on purpose or accidentally. In the big scheme of things it's a p*sser but not that horrible relative to the other stuff we hear about.

Thank goodness even in donations there are laws on what can and cannot be done with the body. Doesn't matter what the release donations state.

Otherwise some of these funeral homes that were in violation on some heinous acts against a corpse would be free to be open.

Most legitimate research on altzheimers would be studying the brain . All other parts could be buried or relegated to certified labs. The military does enough damage to the living...

That was research. Information from those blast studies can save many lives.

Bodies are also used for forensic research. They are placed outdoors or under water and allowed to decay, while being monitored through the process. That is research too.

The guy needs to lighten up. Granny went out with a bang.

According to the story the family specially marked the "no" checkbox that gave the permission to do experiments on the body that may involve explosions.

Like others said, this place is being invested by the FBI for illegal activity. My money is on the the facility being in the wrong.

I really don’t think it is fair to blame the son.

According to Reuters, at least 20 bodies donated to BRC were sold off to the army for blast experiments without their family's consent. The bodies were sold for around $5,893 each.

The donation center is no longer operating. It was raided in 2014 by the FBI following accusations that it was selling donated bodies for profit. It was during the 2014 raid the agents made several horrific discoveries, including a woman's head sewn onto a male torso, dismembered limbs and heads strewn about and a cooler filled with male genitalia.

This a quote from the link provided by OP.

Yeah, outrage is warranted.
