The article below says she had post partum psychosis, she tried to commit suicide. The father found them all, Someone made the father a go fund me that raised over $800k, it's looking to raise a million dollars...
This is horrific. I don’t doubt her diagnosis and it’s authenticity, but I do have to wonder why in the world wasn’t she institutionalized or at the very least kept away from her children until she could recover, if recovery was possible? This seemed avoidable which makes it even more tragic.
I feel horrible for this father and empathy for this mother too. My mom had severe PPD a few months after having a couple of my siblings severe enough that she had to be hospitalized, but not to a point that our lives were in danger. Friends and family stepped in to help us. I don't remember everything, but I suspect that the depression is there and it doesn't appear to be too bad until it simply is. My mom like this lady had multiple children. Neither one was probably getting the rest they needed to allow their body to heal. I was fortunate not to go through PPD. Interestingly, I was never asked about my mother's experiences having babies either. I guess the doctor expected me to bring it up.
Even in 2023 IMO women's health concerns arent taken especially seriously by the medical profession or families.
The US has one of the highest maternal mortality of the first world countries.
I just dont understand why the mental and emotional health of postpartum women is not monitored and taken more seriously.
I know people want to find a logical reason for this craziness. I still say she is a criminal and a murderer. I hope the courts throw the book at her to include the death sentence.
