More than a year after closing due to the pandemic, the theme parks at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim are scheduled to open April 30 with limited capacity and restrictions on some attractions.
Under the state guidelines, the parks will be limited to 15% of total capacity...(for now). Only in-state visitors will be allowed in the parks, a requirement that Disneyland and others will enforce by requiring that parkgoers submit a California address and ZIP code online when buying tickets.
That's how I felt at WDW. I feel like DL should have been allowed to open months ago. They've proven at all their other parks that they've been taking precautions seriously.
That's not a big surprise. WDW was shut down for four months; DL for more than a year. Any company that has that significant a business disruption is going to have to lay off a chunk of their workforce.
California this week allowed theme parks to reopen at full capacity as COVID-19 cases in the US continue to decline, and videos posted online show masses of maskless people lined up to get into Disneyland.
One user posted a video on Instagram showing people lined up along roads for several blocks, waiting for hours to get into Disneyland. The video was reposted several times on TikTok.
It can be a nightmare. Post Covid demand to get out and be entertained. At Disney Land even pre Covid there were times when you fought your way through LA area traffic only to find that all the parking lots were full and your day was ruined.
