He didn't deliberately share it, he was just careless but paying the price for it due to overzealous school officials.
And what's with the student's moronic quote, anyone that claims in this internet age of ours that they didn't know it would lead to the teacher resigning is just straight up B.S.
In a now-viral video, a University of Miami professor appeared to accidentally reveal a porn bookmark on the browser he was sharing with students during a Zoom class — and the school confirmed Wednesday that he's out of a job.
Business school lecturer John Peng Zhang left the university after the student newspaper, The Miami Hurricane, broke the news about the embarrassing gaffe Tuesday.
If it was Pornhub, then he was just supporting the company that donated 50,000 masks to medical professional during COVID-19. Now what's wrong with that?! =)

People need to get over it. Just because he watches porn in his spare time doesn't mean that he isn't a good professor. College students know about sex.

I agree. That was extreme unless it's animals or kids involved..
It was "Busty college girl fu....", which may not be the best porn bookmark for a professor.
If he had a real relationship with students with no publicity, nothing would happen. Some college professors married their students, but they didn't lose their jobs.
If he had not gone viral on Tik Tok, he would still have a job. His crime was not being discrete.
That's not fair. I understand him being embarrassed, and yeah he was rather foolish to not realize what he was sharing, but damn he should not have to pay for that with his job. Not cool.
Rule of work, do not use the same computer for personal and business. For business, use it only for that, nothing else.
When my kids were first entering the workforce, I tried to emphasize this. It's their computer/network/etc, so only go to approved sites.
[Of course, if you do need to go to certain sites for "research purposes", do it in a VM window.)

I think you are missing the point even though your are correct.
Most parents do not like the idea of a educator tasked with teaching XYZ (at any stage of education level) then exposing their kids to anything inappropriate.
So while they may accept sex education if it is presently in a clinical manner, they do not want them to be exposed to porn sites they might not otherwise be aware of.
So the fact he watches porn on his own time, most people are not going to care (unless it is sick/perverted stuff).
So lets not be naive, plenty of porn is not depictions of normal sexual practices, and instead depicts plenty of sick stuff.
No parent is going to want their daughters or sons exposed to that vile rubbish.
