Sick irony but some justice. A Sony Playstation executive caught in pedophile sting.

https://www.cnet.com/tech/gaming/son...e-sting-video/

Go figure an "adult" who specializes in games ment for boys and 'young men' caught in a pedophile sting.

They love to hang out where they can have access to their preferred victims.

I, unfortunately, had the displeasure of reading in another article the text messages he sent thinking he was communicating with a 15 year old boy (a child that age would be young enough to be his grandson). He also sent explcit photos of himself.

So incredibly sickening.

I believe there are far more of these predators than we realize. And there are people trying to normalize this.

Happens all over.. I mean, this guy was a Sony exec. would anyone be shocked if Disney workers were caught up in it? well, they have been. Lawyers, doctors.. People from all walks of life.

My only concern is that this is a vigilante organization, from my understanding, that carried out this 'sting'. The likelyhood is that they cannot preserve evidence to have a proper prosecution. So.. Then the decision has to be made, which is more important? Prosecution or identification?

What will eventually happen is that someone will be chatting with these folks and will give someone else's name and address.. Perhaps, such as a neighbor so that they can monitor who is approaching. So, now, this guy shows up on someone elses property yelling and screaming about someone trying to meet a kid for sex.. The person at the property is going to have ZERO clue what the hell this is about.. Is going to get a gun.. and things are going to get exciting. Not to mention the lawsuits, assuming no gunplay is involved. Can you imagine? Someone shows up on your front step yelling that you're trying to hook up with a 15 year old and you have no clue what the hell is going on?

The cops can get subpeonas to tell where an IP of someone they're chatting with is.. these vigilantes.. not so much.

So... I do have concerns about the methodology used here.

Here's the problem. If the boy was 18, everything is legal, even if he lies.. If he was 15, the stingers broke all kinds of laws, from child labor, to exposing a minor to sexually explicit content and behavior.

Subject claims to be 18 but is 15 -- you're under arrest.
Subject claims to be 15 but is 18 -- you're under arrest.
You can't have it both ways.

Which is why there was not one single successful prosecution arising from the TV show "To catch a Predator". Prosecution couldn't produce a single victim or witness who was under 18. Dismissed.

Aside from the fact that this story isn't even about "Pedophilia", which is a sexual attraction to PRE-PUBESCENT children.

There were plenty of successful prosecutions. Now, in one county, the prosecutor did refuse to file charges/prosecute due to the involvement of.. I think it was Perverted Justice.

There were several that were found not guilty. But, stating not one single successful prosecution is a complete and total fabrication.

In a great majority of prosecutions, the only convictions came from guilty pleas, usually plea-bargained. In one sting, Collin County Texas, all charges were dropped, for lack of evidence that a crime had been committed. It's simply not a crime to talk about sex to an 18-yrar-old.

However, it may be a crime for an 18-year-old to conceal his own idently and publicly identify himself as another person. Have you thought about that?. Read about Synthetic Identity Fraud. It is always a crime deceptively gain by pretending to be someone else. The cops here are the criminals, with criminal intent.
