When I was in school I knew this kid and his younger brother that lived about two hundred yards from the railroad tracks. They stole a huge spool of wire off a boxcar and the next day detectives followed their tracks in the snow all the way up to their back yard and spotted the wire on their patio.
We nicknamed him "Train Robber."
Guessing that they didn't grow up to be brain surgeons lol.
Ah, feds involved...otherwise I would expect the various local metro DA's to hand out some wrist slaps after putting them on no-bail notices to appear in a year or two.
Have some understanding, they are simply stocking up on university textbooks and school supplies for the coming school year. The cost of higher education these days is astronomical.
I am so tired of these lowlifes getting away with this. All those thieves should have to live in a boot camp style tent jail, on boring food rations, while cleaning up the whole railroad line, for years.

That article says they have a no bail policy there so yeah they are getting away with it. And that's probably why there has been an increase in thefts. I wonder how many of those 14 are still in jail for this crime alone? It's a free for all and it's going to keep getting worse unless all thieves are made to pay for their crimes.
Pretty soon Amazon shipments will be escorted by armed guards.

Society is degrading so fast. I am so glad that I am at this end of my lifespan and feel so sorry for my grandkids
