In addition to the "free" tests that are mailed to valid addresses, there are the 8 "free" tests PER INDIVIDUAL covered by insurance (mandated by the Biden administration, no deductibles or copays involved), and there are the thousands of "free" testing sites set up around the country, and there are 50 MILLION "free" tests being sent to various clinics and communities across the US.
Not to mention, that when I landed in the US earlier this month, I was met at customs by someone literally surrounded by piles of "free" tests they were trying to give away.
For all of you saying that employers won't accept the results, quite frankly you don't know what you're talking about.
My employer will accept the results, and people I've talked to buying at-home test kits to are also using them to go back to work. So I guess the real answer is it depends on your employer.
So then what's the point of even requiring the test? Unless you're talking about the at-home tests that are monitored by a teledoc, a person could be dipping the swab in alcohol or testing a stray cat.

I guess you'd have to ask the employers. But IMO they are relying on the majority of their employees being honest and upfront about the results, novel concept I know.
Whether or not an employer is going to accept those home test results is going to depend on a number of factors. I know that some situations where the testing requirement comes from the government, the employer isnt allowed to accept a home test.

I don't think it would come up positive OR negative if you did that, it would come up as unreadable I would think.

Most employers that require testing have the kits at the workplace I would think. That's what we do here.
My husband has a cough and scratchy throat this morning. It would be great if he could just test at home to see if it's covid, but we haven't been able to find tests here.
Anybody know how long it will be before these tests arrive?
