Lots of over-40 faces. In fact, I'm pretty sure no one is under 40. Are they part of the exodus to the dinosaur sanctuary farm?
Eight of the thirteen directors are retired from their prior positions. I guess all those fired dinobabies should join a BOD as these did.
Apparently as employees, they have no valuable and can't plan for the future. But if you get old enough, you suddenly become "smart" enough to be a Director?
They need to release the names and ages of the executives sending these emails. They must have felt quite comfortable with their stance on culling their aging maternal workforce to be shooting off texts like that to the other executives.
So their plan was to replace these over 40 workers with millennial males? Or did they consider millennial females to be adequate replacements, too?
Who are these idiots? Seriously?
Not at all surprising given their history.
But it's shocking to me, not only the sheer callousness of it all, but also the sheer stupidity. I was told relatively early on, and we are reminded from time to time, "never put anything in an email that you wouldn't want to be cross examined on, etc..."

They very clearly felt untouchable.
Is the assumption that it was members of that board sending these emails? That just seems crazy if true. I don't know anything about those board members but they all seem to be experienced enough not to do something so breathtakingly stupid.

It never counts the execs they are older in a lot of cases. They just want the workforce to be younger. It’s the same as 55 year old man who won’t date anyone over 30.
IBM is one of those companies where their 'brand' carried them so far not having to adapt or evolve as fast as others. They had 'a' chance early in the computer game but were still kind of pricey back then. When they started promoting bundles for the home and/or private use it was probably kind of late in the game and couldn't build on that nor did they want too.
"This is what must change. They really don't understand social or engagement. Not digital natives. A real threat for us."
^^An "executive" wrote that^^
Come on. Who wrote that?
