Four are thought to have used cocaine laced with the powerful synthetic opioid that has a potency dozens of times stronger than morphine, Gollan said, according to the station.
The other two overdosed when they tried to administer CPR and were exposed to the drug, Gollan said.
All six were from West Point, and two were revived using Narcan, the emergency overdose treatment, the station reported. Two remained hospitalized in critical condition, the station reported.
As for the two who supposedly overdosed while administering CPR and were exposed that way, even if this story is true, their military careers are likely over if it is shown they were in the house where the drugs were being consumed, knew about the consumption, and did nothing to stop it/leave.
What an embarrassment to them, their families and unfortunately West Point too. How stupid can you be to get accepted there, then blow it by doing drugs. It's a privilege to attend West Point. They don't deserve that honor.
The spring breakers are swarming Va Beach. I hate the "cruising" traffic and the late night sirens but at least the armpit of the strip is far enough away that I don't have to deal with the drunken last call crowd.
I've been done with the VB strip for years. It's thug city every summer. No thanks.
It's fine as long as you avoid the clubbing areas mostly at last call hour. I walk my dogs here every night and feel safe enough. There are plenty of locals running, walking dogs, etc. at night. And lol, I don't think anyone is enjoying the oceanfront today! Even the seagulls are MIA!
The drug laws themselves are to blame for this...the coke was 'laced' with Fentanyl!!
If this was legal, these drugs would be manufactured under strict regulations and quality controls...keeping them illegal just ensures more deaths and overdoses in the future.
Its really pointless to debate though, because overall the Govt has no authority to impose or enforce 'drug laws' in the first place, history proves without a doubt, this is not a safety or health concern anyway, keeping drug laws in place does nothing but ensuring criminals continue to profit (tax free as well)...
Ive long thought this is the real reason these laws remain in place...(to protect the criminals).
I agree 100% with above posts. How many people possess both the extremely rare cerebral AND physical attributes to get into West Point... and then blow it all away like this. It doesn't mean they won't be successful later in life, but that's a couple of wasted admission slots that could have gone to truly dedicated students.
