Agree. I've waited that long more than once in Atlanta.

I can't read the article. I see 43 advertisers waiting to pounce the moment I turn off my Ad Blocker,,,, so I won't.

Besides pushing the giant staircase in place, what needs to be done to let these passengers leave? This is unacceptable in my book. If there was staff on the plane, why not roll out the emergency shoot? I'm guessin' it's because nobody wanted to roll it back into place after every one was off the plane.

I think the passengers were lucky it was only 45 minutes. If 45 minutes is an acceptable time, why not several hours? Who gets to decide these things?

BTW, what? the FA couldn't open the door?

I would have raided the alcohol stash and loaded up on the blue chips.

It did seem that way. I only skimmed the article I thought I caught "5 hours..." whoops ?

I'm guessing 45 minutes on a landed airplane does feel like 5 hours though, especially with a crying baby on board lol

But wasn't it at like 2AM? I mean that might make the difference.

My guess once the emergency shute or stair is used it automatically triggers a bunch of inside and outside(federal investigations) and the cost of resetting it. Probably some liability issues as well if someone so much as sprains an ankle it could be a million dollar lawsuit. Even then they would still have to get into the terminal so they then have to find an open door. In snow or rain that wouldn't go over well.

I blame it on a supervisor for not checking there were no incoming flights that needed staff. An employee and flight schedule should've been the only two things needed to determine that.

Your plane flying faster then normal doesn’t benefit anyone on it, the gates have schedules they have to meet. My flight to SF got in early, we waited on tarmac until gate time came up. Same thing happened coming home to Mpls, waited.

45 minutes is still 45 minutes whether it's high noon or 2am.

I've waited more than a half hour before on a plane to "deplane". Frankly I dont' need any assistance deplaning. For those of us who can walk, open the damn door. We will wait for our luggage and whatever else the airlines have to do. But we don't need help "deplaning". It's baloney.
