A JetBlue crew left for the night at a Mass airport leaving passengers stuck on the arriving plane on the tarmac. Police and a JetBlue manager from home was called to deplane the flight.

Their excuse was staffing issues.

And the worst part is because they are so short staffed, like everyone else apparently, they probably can't suspend or fire these workers

To be clear, because I made a misconception before reading the article, the plane crew didnt leave for the night. They were still on the plane. It was the ground crew that had left. The pilot landed and then announced to the passengers that there was no one at the airport to deplane them. oi

Don't forget many employees left or got fired because of the vaccine mandate that airlines imposed ahead of an OSHA ruling.
And then SCOTUS stopped OSHA in their tracks from implementing that mandate.

So Airlines fired people over a mandate that never happened.
Now we live with the consequences.

Personally I think low staffing issues are due to companies trying to save money.

Sadly i think we are going to have to start imposing laws.

Forty-five minutes doesn't seem all that terrible. I've waited that long to have a gate available for the plane to disembark the passengers.

Yes I’ve been on planes that long too. Title makes it sound like they were there overnight.
