In this case, it doesn't matter in the eyes of the law what may or may not have happened between the families prior to the incident. It's a pretty cut-and-dried case of simple assault in its own right. I'm sure the woman has her "own side of the story" and all that, but I doubt that whatever it is will make much difference to the court.
So this is headline news? Notice how the liberal news network wants to make this into a bigger issue than it really is, while there are far worse stories going on that they ignore. I guess those other stories don't fit the narrative.

Never said I was "the court." Just trying to explain to you how the legal system works, but I see it's useless. I actually agree with you that there's likely something more to this. But once she put her hands on that child, she crossed a legal line.
