QUOTE FROM ABOVE LINK, my italics;
“My son has been married for six years, but they are still not planning a baby,” the couple wrote in the petition filed with a court in Haridwar on Saturday. “At least if we have a grandchild to spend time with, our pain will become bearable.”
The couple exhausted their savings to provide an education and a wedding for their son, efforts deserving of compensation, according to the filing. The petition asked for compensation for the cost of a wedding reception in a five-star hotel, an $80,000 luxury car, and the couple's honeymoon. [end quote]

They say that anyone can sue anyone else for any reason as long as they can find a lawyer to handle the case. Must be the same in India. Unless they have a written agreement stating that they would pay for the wedding and car in exchange for a grandchild, I can't imagine how they could win. This is in India, though, so probably more likely, since they still have arranged marriages.
Years ago, I watched a documentary about an Indian woman who became a first time mother at age 74(?). They
said it's very bad to be a childless couple in their society. The woman's husband even wed his SIL to try to have a baby as multiple wives were also allowed. No dice. The doctor who performed the IVF said that older mothers make good mothers because they spend more time with their children. The couple in question said they used to receive a lot of criticism for not having kids and they finally put an end to that!
