Just be glad you don't live in Idaho. The greedy slobs here only sell tickets with the powerplay, so you have to spend $3 if you wanna be in it to winnit. I actually drive to Oregon as often as I can to buy my regular numbers.
I don't even know what the powerplay option is. Just give me a regular old ticket. 1.2 billion is plenty for me, I don't want to be greedy, haha.
I agree, I stopped playing MM and PB regularly once they added more white and red ball numbers, but I'll buy one ticket if either drawing goes over $400 million, then it's worth the risk. On this billion dollar drawing I'll splurge and get 5 tickets ($15) with the Power Play.
I usually buy a ticket when either of the two (PB and MM) gets over $300 million.
This time I didn't notice until the jackpot was over $800 million, and I didn't get around to buying a ticket until today for the $1.2 billion jackpot.

If you win a second price you will only get one million instead of two million without the extra dollar. Last night's drawing had seven 1 million dollar winners and three 2 million dollar winners. Which group would you rather be in if you won?
I'd have great fun and satisfaction giving a lot of it away.
I live in a state you can't stay anonymous. I donated $10 and didn't win anything. Donated $4 today for the next drawing.
I would honestly like to win the 1 million prize way more than the grand prize. That would be a nice bump in life. The grand prize comes with WAY WAY WAY too many troubles for me.
Interesting story in China of a man who won millions who's keeping it a secret from his wife and child. I guess married Chinese women have no rights to money won while married?
A man in China is keeping his 219 million yuan (£26 million) lottery winnings a secret from his wife and child because he fears knowledge of the jackpot would make them lazy.
To protect his anonymity, the man, who only identified himself by the pseudonym 'Mr Li', dressed in a yellow cartoon character costume to claim his winnings at the lottery office in Nanning, in the southern region of Guangxi, last week on October 24, Nanning Evening News reported.
'Mr Li' said he was thrilled about the win but wanted to hide his identity and keep the jackpot a secret from his wife and child.

I agree! You could still live a normal life with a million, stay in the same area, etc.

I'll buy 5 more today.
