These homeless if dont have guns be smart to find some kind of weapons when they are on the streets to protect themselves. It ought to be one of their prized possessions really because you need protection. If they go into shelter, they wanna keep with them in case they lose their spot in shelter and end up outside.
Apparently this town is no stranger to crime, 4homicides in the last year-12 months.
Ok so now I do seem to recall some others…with what little memory I do have left…
Some news report this killer, Zaaina Asra Zakirrah Mahvish-Jammeh, was from Gambia. How does someone from Africa end up in America, living on the streets? Aren't there refugee agencies that are responsible for these people once they get here?
It did not say anywhere that she was a refugee. Refugee from what? There is a lot of poverty in Gambia, but it seems pretty stable there atm.
In fact, Gambia tends to take in refugees from other African countries. Your question made me look up some info. There are about 8000 Gambians in the USA, mostly here for education or business reasons. The official language of Gambia is English, so it makes sense that they might seek opportunities in another English-speaking country.
No info on this particular woman's background or why she came here, though.
Thank goodness it was just a hatchet, with a gun she might’ve killed more.
Yes, thank goodness for the gun laws we currently have in place. If gun laws were not as strong as they are, this non-citizen without a permanent address could have bought one or more guns and killed multiple people at her homeless shelter and perhaps around town.
And it's good that this was in Vermont. In a place where authorities look the other way when it comes to illegal guns, like New York or Chicago, she may have been able to buy one.

My post was in response to a poster who posted "Let's ban hatchets!"
Some homeless have a lot of mental problems. It can get scary at these places. One time I was walking past one of these places downtown and some dude was just following me around. Ugh. Gotta carry protection.
That is ridiculous. Instead of banning the parents (and grandparent(s)) responsible for the brawl, they are now banning ALL parents from attending their children's games?
The people who brawled are all caught on videotape. Ban them and arrest them. Don't punish the ones sitting in the stands to support their children at the game. Punish the people who actually engaged in this reckless behavior. It's horrible that a 60 year old grandfather died later but they don't even mention what his cause of death was or whether or not he was even involved in the brawl.
