We did get it for her! She loves everything about it including the aesthetics and the color. Since she hasn't ridden in many years, her confidence was somewhat lacking so the both feet on the ground was the inspiration to get back on and move the cranks. And I enjoy having her ride with me just for the sake of riding on two wheels.

Fantastic! I had the same issue when I started cycling, but after a while kind of outgrew the 'feet on the ground' geometry and moved on to something that allowed for more time in the saddle (the cruiser geometry makes it hard to spend too much time riding, I discovered). If she eventually decides to trade in for another type of geometry after a while there are some great bikes out there with the aesthetics of the Townie that would allow for longer distance rides.
