Today is my Nick's birthday! Yep he and Kim are 3 years and 1 day apart in the birth department, lol Kim was so mad at me the year Nick was born, he interfered with her birthday party
Karla-Wishing your DH best of luck at the doctor today. I have a funny story about umbilical hernias. I had a tiny hard bump on my belly button. It hurt when I pressed it. So I went to my doctor...she said "I'm pretty sure it's a hernia" and she sent me to a specialist. DH comes in with me to the specialist. She checks me and says "no it's not a hernia" Hubby says to her can you do a quick check for me. It turns out he had the hernia I still don't know what mine is but it only shows up and hurts when I am under 140 pounds I haven't felt it in a couple of years
Sandy-Happy Birthday to Nick. Cute story about Kim

That hernia does not sound like fun.
Just got off the phone w/the credit union. We got our new debit cards on THursday, the new pin on Friday. Still couldn't use it, even tho we confirmed it with the card company. Turns out the CU had to do something with it. So we're set now.
Lisa, you asked about the lunch yesterday. Let's just say it was a bit on the uncomfortable side. Within 5 minutes of arrival, one of the ladies I used to be close to made a real catty remark about me. She acted like she was joking, but it was a very cutting remark. Not wanting to make a scene, I did reply but didn't let it escalate. I was a bit quiet. The food wasn't up to par for this location (we'd all been there before.) Unfortunately, this was the 2nd time this woman has tried to embarrass me in front of others, so I'll not be attending any more of these lunches. I hate that I'm allowing her to have this power over me, but I will not put myself in that position again.
On a better note...
I did about 3 miles today, maybe a bit more, and 30 hard min. of weights. DH did about 4 miles.
Tonight, we're going to dinner at the home of the couple I met on CD about a year ago who bought here. Should be fun.
Gotta run to OOH, then off to Wally World (I have gift cards! Woohoo!)
Pattie, I'll bet she's jealous because you are looking so good!
Here's an interesting hernia story. A girl up here had a baby and wrapped it up and put it in a dumpster. The dumpster was at the apt. complex where my MIL lives. Someone heard the baby when they threw trash in there and rescued it. They found out who the girl was, turns out both her parents are Drs. Her father operated on my husband; this was not too many years ago.
I just did a little cardio workout that I found on youtube, it was intense. Started with burpees!?! No warm-up, no real cooldown, straigth cardio with no active recovery between the exercises. Nasty business.

Could be, Connie....her hair (never her strong point) was so nasty looking - it looked like she hasn't washed or combed it in a month. She's a very insecure woman.
Can you imagine throwing a baby in the garbage? What is it with people? Just this past week, they responded to an emergency call, found a woman bleeding profusely and took her to the ER, then booked her because they found an infant's body in a freezer. This all happened about 10 miles from here.

Just got an email from my sister. Apparently, mom had a follow-up dr.'s appt. from her ER visit this weekend. Something turned up on her chest xrays. Mom thought, since the ER folks were rather nonchalant about her results, that there weren't going to be any problems, so she told my sister not to go to the appt. with her. Well, now mom's confused about what they told her and doesn't understand what's wrong. I'm sure she's thinking the worst. She does remember they told her that she has pneumonia in both lungs and that there's "a mass" that they don't know what it is or she doesn't understand what it is. She's not sure what the next step is other than she's supposed to go back to the dr in 2 weeks. She's decided to call them tomorrow to see if she and Sis can come back to discuss it. She thinks she would have understood more if they hadn't blindsided her by not saying anything in the ER. I told her they really aren't supposed to unless it's something that could kill her immediately, that it's up to the dr. to talk these things over with her just in case of incorrect diagnoses. She doesn't get that. She told the office she wants Sis to call in for the info, but she didn't sign that they could talk to any of us (she thinks if we talk to them, we'll make decisions without her input, but we wouldn't do that and she says we're treating her like a child if we do that). I asked Sis that, when she goes in, she gets mom to sign that we can talk to the dr. and slip my name in there if possible so I can call too. I keep telling Mom we'd never do that, but she's one stubborn woman. Hmmm.... good thing I'm not like that....
oh man Pattie, I hope your sister finds out what is wrong. You know it just could be that the pneumonia is making it look like there is something in there that would make sense because he is not referring her to anyone right away. Think positive there girl! I'll include your family in my prayers.
I hate it when someone is catty like that lady, I mean just get a life! Yep Connie is right and she is jealous of you, young, beautiful and a hubby that loves you

Thank you. It means a lot to me. I just found out they've already scheduled another catscan for her on Monday, 2/6. I'll keep you informed.
Thanks for the description. I'm just not so sure about that "young" part.
