Welcome to my Thread.
It isn't for the squimish (which leaves me out, so let's start again)

Welcome to my Thread.
Today, Saturday, I realized that I am 25 lbs overweight (so I went back to bed). Sigh, let's start again.

Welcome to my Thread!!
I'm not saying "they" are right but according to my height and bone structure, I am 25 lbs. overweight. Since this is the unofficial start of summer, and there is no possible way I can fit into my "new" bathing suit (which like a fool I purchaced 3 years ago without trying on and it does NOT have an elastic waist) and my good old standby with its elastic waist has bit the dust, I have decided not to buy another new bathing suit but rather fit into the one I have (but have yet to wear).

Summer is my Motivation!
I hope you will join me in a daily self improvement program log (for yourself) which I/we am going to force ourselves into starting Monday morning. Oh wait it's the holiday, TUESDAY morning.

If you like to join, please add posts. My only request is that we don't get too specific but rather focus on motivation. Like when I post "I didn't exercise this morning because I was late for work", I wouldn't mind hearing some gentle feedback like: "Great - pantie waisted Nancy boy sleeps in while I've been up for 3 hours already. What was so important that you couldn't get to bed early last night?" You know, fun stuff like that.

ALRIGHT, LET"S GET STARTED!
This morning I drank coffee without heavy creame. For breakfast I ate a package of instant oatmeal. (oh look, it's lunchtime )

Today I will volunteer to cut my parent's front and back lawn and hand trim near edges. I will take with me a container of water and drink every 15 min or so - total of 64 oz. per day. From now on I will use a small(er) plate for lunch and dinners and limit myself to just one helping (hey, this is earth shattering for me..)

OK let's not overdue it the first day....

PS: just weighed myself - make that 27 lbs.

Well that was... fun.

I forgot to bring a water bottle so I didn't stick to my plan. And now that it is Happy Hour, I'm having doubts as to whether I will make the 64 oz minimum today. I guess I could drink the water during Happy Hour, but then I won't be too happy now, would I? Well so much for day 1.

edit - This might not be such a great idea, it took me 10 minutes to find this thread from this morning, and I knew there was a thread. Oh well.

Last night I went out for a beer. An acquaintance told me that if I wanted to get serious about this I would have to give up alcohol. So, after the third beer I decided to get an new acquaintance.

This morning I realized she may be right so I plan to limit myself to none or maybe one on the weekends only. Or holidays, or social events, or networking activity...

I also went to the store and stocked up on vitamins. I even bought one of those circular pill holders for every day of the week. I bought Calcium, E capsules, Fish Oil, B complex, multi-vitamin, Glucosamine/Chondroitin and ginkgo biloba. The last two were suggested by my new acquaintance, but they have asterisks by the name saying the FDA hasn't ruled on their effectiveness. (I feel so 'cutting edge')..

Today I plan to take a bike ride. I'm glad it is a mountain bike because I seriously douubt I will be able to stay on the road.

Went to a gym yesterday to see what all the whoopla was about, or as they prefer, a "fitness center". I think it is code for "must wear clothes that fit". This is going to be more difficult than I thought.

Isn't anyone going to join me here with their own personal quest? Now's the time, getting in on the ground floor, working our way up, back from sedimentation, and all that rot...

Well tomorrow is "D" day. I am actually looking forward to a good 'work-out'.
