Jeannie, I grew up Baptist. Real Baptists don't drink alcoholic beverages. I would have been thrown out of the church.

Jeannie, when you get to NC it would not be a good idea to be inviting people out for a drink. A lot of people, very respectable people, will not associate with people who drink. They will go so far as to not let their children play with your children.

There are enough people who moved here from the North for you to associate with, but I am just telling you how I was brought up and how the thinking goes. My best friend had a wedding reception for her daughter at the local Catholic Church and when the toast came up, the room emptied. She had no idea why and I was too kind to tell her. We were taught that when alcoholic beverages enter the building that we should exit said building.

Jeannie, you can have sweet tea and I will have coffee and cream. I don't drink tea either. It makes me sick to my stomach. Yeah, I am a real mango. LOL

Packing for a week at the beach is exhausting.

I just had some sweet pickles (bread and butter) and I am going to have a hot dog maybe. We are getting down to brass tacks here.

Jeannie, just for the record, I don't think Mormons drink coffee and coke. I saw one of my neighbors walking by one day carrying her 3 year old. It was a hot Summer day and I wondered how much further she could walk, because she was with child. I invited her in and apologized all over the place that the only thing I had to drink was grapefruit juice and water. She gladly took the grapefruit juice. I told the friend I mentioned before about how awful I felt that that was the only thing I had to offer. She told me that the lady was Mormon and if I had had anything else, she would not have taken it. I guess that worked out good. We are just a very diverse nation.

No, it is getting cold because we are going. It usually rains on our vacations. Last year when we were having the drought, dh said we should call places and see how much they would pay us to come there. We went to Tennessee and it didn't even rain that time. The condo has an inside pool and an inside kiddie pool. That is why I chose it, plus it is close and we won't have to drive far.
