1/2 cup finely diced onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons butter I used extra virgin olive oil instead but just a little
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes or diced
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 dash hot pepper sauce
pound medium shrimp - peeled and deveined I used 10 frozen x-large shrimp

DIRECTIONS
In a 2 quart saucepan, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Add onion, green pepper, celery, and garlic; cook until tender.
Mix in cornstarch. Stir in stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, and red pepper sauce. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Stir in shrimp, and cook for 5 minutes.

Serve smothered over brown rice. I also added red pepper flakes. You can change some of the spices around. It's full of healthy stuff.
Thank you lisa, we love new recipes here. Your pictures are beautiful. We just moved to NC from NJ in September. We're about 30 minutes outside of Raleigh.

I did pretty good for the most part today. I made my hubby a big bowl of homemade soup and cornbread for lunch. I couldn't resist and had a slice of cornbread with a cup of tea. I cut back on dinner.

Dessert- I think I need chocolate. Sugar free pudding and light cool whip.

Ha, ha everything bad sounds delicious and the worst part is it usually is. I think Lacey said it takes 27 or 28 days to break a habit. Well I have 20 more to go, lol.

Lisa, do you do the corn bread from scratch? Dad used to take corn to be ground and Mom started from scratch. The flavor was so much better than anything I have eaten since.

We had a great day. Both girls looked and acted healthy. They looked so cute in their little princess coats we bought them. They were already dressed, so we didn't try the rest of the outfit on them. The little jackets had a hood and they had fun looking sideways at each other from the hoods. Baby is crawling and smiles at everything. She is going to be Miss Personality Plus.

We had a while to visit with the three year old before the baby woke up. I think that was good.

Subway for lunch and cheese sandwich for dinner. I going to bed and sleep like a log. So tired.

Your right Lisa. NCN, sounds like a very nice visit with the grandkids. Ended my night with a glass of ginger ale. Tomorrow a Billy Blanks Taebo work-out and hopefully a healthy day of eating. Oh, and those who are Panthers fans...things aren't looking too good at the moment. Hope they can turn things around and win it. Night all!
