Aldi also manages Trader Joe's so with a 500,000 sq foot warehouse planned to serve North Texas and Southern Oklahoma out of Denton, could Trader Joe's be on the way too? The lack of a large distribution center has been cited in the past as the reason why TJ's isn't in the DFW area yet so having parent, Aldi, build the center soon, could TJ's not be far behind? This article is from the Fort Worth Star Telegram a few days back...a shorter version of this story also appeared in the Dallas Morning News.

I think TJ's is the only store I'll miss when I move this month. I hope TJ's comes to Dallas!

I guess distribution has been the big holdup on that move--if we can get a Bass Pro and Ikea looks like someplace around here coul score a Trader Joe's === I would love to see what one is like from what I have heard of them...

Ditto for San Antonio, Houston and Austin. What other stores do DFW have other than CM and WF are similar to ALDI- resident foodie

If CM=Central Market and WF=Whole Foods, then you are mistaken with ALDI.
ALDI is similar to Sav-A-Lot. No frills lowest price possible. Think Wal*Mart is Neiman Marcus compared to ALDI.

This is basically a little test. I think it's a matter of time before TJ's come barreling into the Texas market. They know they want to. A state with 24 million people that has 2 giant metros of over 5.5 million people that has yet to be tapped by their company. They know there's money here and they know the demand is there because transplant had them in their city.
